1) How to enroll for AKIO Competitions?

Enroll online only. No walkin enrollments.

2) How many competitions I can enroll in?

AKIO has Off-Stage and On-Stage event competitions both conducted in two different days.. A participant can enroll maximum of two items in each event competition. For example, a child can participate in maximum of two items in Off-Stage competitions.

3 )Do I need to bring my own material for competition?

Yes, you would bring materials which are essential for your competition. AKIO will announce topic in advance and what material is provided by AKIO. Rest and required material is at your responsibility.

4 )Is Enrollment fee refundable?

No, AKIO will not refund the fee for no show due to any reason. If AKIO cancels/reschedule the event then your fee may be refunded to you.

 

5 )If there are not enrough participants in a competition. Is AKIO cancels the competition?

If there is no enrollment for a particular competition, then AKIO will cancels the competition. If there are less than 4 participants, then there will be 1st and 2nd prize. If there are 3 participants then only one prize will be given. If there are 2 participants then there wont be a competition, rather AKIO gives an appreciation prize for both. AKIO's decision is final.

 

6 ) My kid wants to participate in a competition but kid's age is younger than the age required. Can I enroll my kid in higher age group? Is vice versa allowed?

As long as Child's age is less than the age required by the competition, you can enroll your child in that competition. But your child will not get any bonus or consideration because of difference in age. Its purely peformance basis. You cannot enroll your child in younger age groups if your child's age is more than what required by competition. Again, AKIO will guide you in this kind of matters. Please check with the AKIO member ahead of time to avoid any disappointments.

 

5) Is every participant get a some kind of gift/prize for participation?

AKIO encourages all children to participate in competitions and AKIO event is a stage for children to perform their best abilities and may the best peformance win the prize. Children who did not get the prize will learn from the event and improve their skills to compete and finally they will win.

6) Why each time AKIO is conducting different competitions, I dont see a competition for my child?

AKIO has researched on all possible competitions where children can participate and improve their skills. AKIO is trying to conduct variety of competitions and give opportunity to all children. AKIO is doing these for ages 3-14 years only.

7)Do I have to be a child from Indian origin/Hindu religion to participate in AKIO competition?

Absolutely no restriction. AKIO is primarily encouraing Indian origin children to get benefit of the event and improve their creative skills and learn their culture and traditions. At the same time children of other religions and origins may participate in AKIO competitions.

8) I want to donate/contribute to AKIO. Is my donation/contribution tax exampted?

You can use online donation method to contribute. Or you can email AKIO with your interest, someone will contact you. AKIO is registered as Not-for-Profit organization in NY state and is in the process of getting 501 (c) 3 status. Should you have any questions you can contact AKIO for more details.
